Care Never Quits

We direct, produce and shoot both motion and stills. Often on the same set, at the same time.

So when we were hired by Cramer-Krasselt and their client, the Alzheimer’s Association, for a job to focus entirely on stills, we thought: This should be straightforward.  

Production, however, was a puzzle.

At a glance:

• 10 talent plus 5 extras.

• No wardrobe fitting.

• 1 shoot day.

• A very robust shot list.

• 1 location that needed to play as both a care center and a private home.

The location became the key: A newly constructed senior living community in the Chicago suburbs, where we took over a finished but nearly uninhabited floor and transformed it throughout the day into multiple distinct environments.

With a large cast and tight schedule, every element had to work together: casting, styling, props, art direction, lighting and a carefully choreographed day.

Some of our favorite work happens under tight constraints. When you believe in the work, work hard and surround yourself with the right people, it’s hard not to have fun despite the chaos.

Barb even had the pleasure of escorting one of the floor’s two actual residents downstairs for her daily 4 p.m. cocktail.
